Bio: Rick Barth
Business Leadership & Music
Rick Barth is a successful engineer, musician and entrepreneur, whose passion for leadership and innovation made him ideal for the sensualfusion.com advisory board. He presently works for Lockheed Martin Corp., specializing in advanced aircraft avionic design and related technologies. He holds a degree in Electrical Engineering from Penn State University and an MBA from Southern Methodist University.Outside of work, Rick is active in two bands based in the Dallas-Fort Worth metro area - one cover band and one original band. In 2003, the cover band enthusiastically received the "Best Cover Band" award from the Fort Worth Star-Telegram newspaper, and since 2004 they've proudly been the host band for the Texas Rangers Opening Day baseball game.
Rick's newest project is an original indie-rock band that has roots in artists like U2, the Rolling Stones and the Foo Fighters. Rick began playing bass in the late 90s, drawing inspiration from bassists Sting, Dean Dinning of Toad the Wet Sprocket, Michael Anthony of Van Halen, Adam Clayton of U2, and Victor Wooten of Bella Fleck & the Flecktones. True to his choral roots, Rick provides smooth harmonies on most songs to supplement his steady bass licks.
When not making music, you can find this 34-year old enjoying volleyball, backpacking, traveling and investing. In 2006, he formed a stock and options trading company geared toward short-term capital accumulation in the U.S. financial markets, perhaps the ultimate example of Rick's favorite saying, "timing is everything." A native of Columbus, OH, Rick is single and currently resides in Fort Worth, Texas.
